The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) desired a new elevated train station at the center of Chicago's Fulton Market District.  The project was the first new elevated station to open in Chicago in almost 15 years.  The station, located at Lake and Morgan Streets, services the Green and Pink lines.  Before completion of the station, the nearest stations were nearly 1 1/2 miles apart.  Following the station's opening, the neighborhood's development accelerated turning a once struggling industrial neighborhood into a highly desirable vibrant community.   The station's modern design provides a feeling of openness with the use of perforated stainless steel panels, large glazing, and translucent panels.  The project was the featured cover story for the AIA's "Architect" Magazine April 2013 issue.
