Amtrak sought studies to provide options for rehabilitation of the skylight in the great hall of Union Station.  Thornton Tomasetti was invited to evaluate the skylight and provide repair options.  Existing interior leaks and thermal performance were evaluated with an infrared camera.  The general condition of the exterior and interior surrounding the skylight was observed and documented.  Repair options included facade repairs and several strategies for skylight restoration or overcald.
